A night to honor academic excellence.
On Thursday, April 6, 35 students were inducted into the London Middle School chapter of the National Junior Honor Society. This included 21 seventh graders and 14 eighth graders.
In addition to scholarship requirements (a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.7 or better on a 4.0 scale), students must demonstrate standards of excellence in leadership, service, citizenship, and character.
During the ceremony, students were called to center stage individually where their parent(s) greeted them with an induction pin and a rose. The inductees then lit candles and recited the Oath of Membership. The ceremony was facilitated by Chapter Advisor Bonnie Sherman, London Middle School Principal Michael Belmont, as well as current eighth grade chapter members Grace Jolliffe, Josiah Kennedy and Luke Peart.
Seventh grade inductees included Emery Artis, Jake Belmont, Sabrina Burke, Dylan Combs, Kyle Cox, Josephine Davis, Cole Dingledine, Jacob Duvall, Brady Fisher, Alyssa Fox, Reid Gates, Zach Jolliffe, Emily Leach, Paige McSeveney, Sara Oney, Joseph Reynolds, Jonathan Schooley, Brooklyn Sims, Katherine Slane, Chloe Snyder and Morgan Weimer.
Eighth grade inductees were Kayla Baker, Maddie Barker, Cadence Doughman, Denae Doyle, Katrina Dunkley, Jaret Eisler, Riley Fisher, Olivia Johnson, Raven Large, Natalie Lloyd, Brooke McSeveney, Jennifer Sabulsky, Amber Wolford and Ashton Wolford.
