Retired teachers award scholarships

The Madison County Retired Teachers Association awarded scholarships to Lilly Watters and Hayley McConkey. Watters graduated from West Jefferson and is attending Capital University, majoring in Music Education. In high school she was in marching band, choir and musical theater, having the opportunity to perform at Governor Kasich’s inauguration.

McConkey graduated from Madison-Plains and is attending Muskingham University, majoring in English. In high school she was a member of Future Farmers of America, a cheerleader and a Columbus Zoo volunteer.

Both recipients attended the June meeting of Madison County Retired Teachers Association to be recognized.
