Winners of the annual Tolles Senior Interview Contest were announced at the Board of Education meeting held on Thursday, Dec. 15. Beth Fogelsong, career connections coordinator and manager of the contest, presented the top eight finalists to the Board and announced the top three.
Callie Caoua, a senior pre-vet student from Hilliard Davidson, was selected as the 2016-17 contest winner by a panel of judges that includes business and industry leaders from central Ohio and Tolles Superintendent Kim Wilson.
Tamara Vega, a senior art design and communications student from Hilliard Bradley, and Kacie Karner, a senior engineering and manufacturing student from Madison-Plains, earned second and third place, respectively.
The Senior Interview Contest is a school wide event that takes place over the course of several weeks. Seniors from each career-technical program work on their skills with instructors and interview with business and industry professionals. Judges select one winner to represent all career-technical programs. The top eight finalists out of that pool advance to a final round of professional interviews with Superintendent Kim Wilson, as well as business leaders that include HR personnel, CEOs, and more.
Other finalists included Katey Dickey (pre-nursing, Hilliard Darby), Shandon Feldick (computer networking and sSupport, Hilliard Davidson), Casey Swaggerty (firefighting/EMS, Madison-Plains), Tori Pfaff (digital medial production, Hilliard Darby), and Breanna Holder (marketing and logistics, West Jefferson).
