An officer had a lost purse found on South Jefferson Avenue turned into them at 8:53 a.m. It was returned to the owner.


An officer responded at 11:50 a.m. to West Bigelow Avenue in regards to an employee theft. The case is open and charges are pending.


Thursday, Feb. 20


An officer responded at 7:10 a.m. to Coachman Drive in reference to a 911 unknown.


An officer responded at 2:08 p.m. to West Main Street on low hanging wires. Contact was made with the phone and cable company.


Friday, Feb. 21


An officer responded at 8:16 a.m. to South Chillicothe Street in reference to a breaking and entering. The case is under investigation.


An officer responded at 4:15 p.m. to North Avenue in reference to a neighbor dispute.


An officer responded at 4:34 p.m. to West Main Street in reference to a telephone harassment complaint.


An officer was contacted at 7:15 p.m. by Station 261 and advised of a fire hydrant that was leaking on Noteman road. The officer contacted the water department and advised them.


An officer responded at 8:04 p.m. to Willowbrook Court in reference to a suspicious person/ vehicle. Upon arrival it was determined the person was visiting someone in the complex.


An officer responded at 10:44 p.m. to Village Boulevard in reference to a neighbor dispute that occurred several hours earlier.


Saturday, Feb. 22


An officer responded at 10:18 a.m. to East First Avenue in reference to suspicious circumstances at a vacant residence.


An officer responded at 5:01 p.m. to Jackson Street in reference to a smell of natural gas. Upon arrival the odor was verified and Pleasant Valley Fire Department 261 and Engine 261 arrived on the scene.


Officers responded at 5:07 p.m. to Murlay Drive in reference to a neighbor dispute.


Officers responded at 5:42 p.m. to the area of Plain City-Georgesville Road and the south corporation limits in reference to an attempt to locate. Dispatch advised that the Madison County Sheriff’s Office was looking for a stolen vehicle and it was last seen headed northbound on Plain City-Georgesville Road. The vehicle was not located.


An officer responded at 10:04 p.m. to Central Avenue in reference to suspicious circumstances. The caller advised that they heard what sounded like a single gunshot somewhere in the area of Central Avenue. Upon arrival the officer patrolled the area but was unable to locate anything out of the ordinary.


Monday, Feb. 24


An officer received a phone call at 7:30 a.m. at the Plain City Police Department in regards to a domestic dispute on Fairfield Drive that had occurred earlier in day.


An officer met with a party at 5:15 p.m. at the Plain City Police Department in regards to a theft of an item out of their vehicle on South Jefferson Avenue.


Tuesday, Feb. 25


An officer responded at 3:15 p.m. to West Main Street in reference to a non-injury crash. Upon further investigation Amy B. Ernst, 43, of Plain City, was cited for assured clear distance ahead.


An officer responded at 4:37 p.m. to West Main Street in reference to an alarm drop. Upon arrival it was discovered that the alarm had accidentally been activated by an employee.


An officer responded at 5:02 p.m. to West Main Street in reference to a non-injury private property crash. Both parties exchanged information and were advised to contact their insurance companies.


An officer responded at 6:40 p.m. to North Chillicothe Street in reference to a driving complaint. The officer located the vehicle and detected no signs of impairment.


An officer responded at 7:53 p.m. to Carlisle Avenue in reference to a vandalism complaint.


Wednesday, Feb. 26


An officer responded at 12:17 p.m. to East Main Street in regards to an animal complaint.


An officer responded at 12:38 p.m. to North Avenue in regards to a solicitor complaint. The solicitor was located and advised how to obtain a permit and given a warning.


Thursday, Feb. 27


An officer responded at 5:44 p.m. to Church street in regards to a non injury crash.


Friday, Feb. 28


While on routine patrol an officer observed at 1:37 a.m. a suspicious vehicle in a closed business lot on South Jefferson Avenue. Upon further investigation he discovered a female in the floor of the vehicle having a medical episode. The medics were called and the party was transported to the hospital.


An officer responded at 12:50 p.m. to South Chillicothe Street in reference to a bad check.


Officers responded at 8:51 p.m. to Dogwood Court in reference to a domestic dispute.


Saturday, March 1


An officer observed at 2:54 a.m. a vehicle driving erratically on South Chillicothe Street. Upon further investigation it was discovered the driver had medical issues and was disoriented. A ride was called for the driver and a recertification request was sent to the Bureau of Motor Vehicle.


An officer responded at 9:01 a.m. to a parking lot on North Chillicothe Street in reference to a possible road rage incident. Both parties were counseled on how to act and to avoid confrontations with other drivers.


An officer responded at 6:39 p.m. to Gay Street in reference to a 911 unknown. Upon arrival contact was made with a resident and it was determined to be an accidental dial.


Sunday, March 2


An officer responded tat 5:09 a.m. to Converse Drive in reference to suspicious circumstances.


An officer responded at 12:28 p.m. to Jackson Boulevard in reference to a non-injury crash.


An officer responded at 5:37 p.m. to Maple Street in reference to an alarm drop.


Monday, March 3


An officer responded at 8:50 a.m. to West Main Street in regards to bad checks.


Officers responded at 5:19 p.m. to West Main Street on the report of a structure fire. Upon arrival officers noticed smoke pouring from the chimney. The residents were removed from the residence and Pleasant Valley Fire Department contained the scene.


An officer responded at 5:52 p.m. to Jackson Street in reference to a telecom harassment.


An officer responded at 8:19 p.m. to West Main Street in reference to a driving complaint.


Tuesday, March 4


Officers responded at 1:35 a.m. to Maple Street in reference to a fight. Upon arrival one party was found to be seriously injured. The medics arrived and transported the subject to the hospital. The case remains under investigation.


An officer responded at 10:32 p.m. to North Avenue in reference to well-being check. A spouse advised that his wife was threatening to commit suicide by using a handgun. The party was no longer at the residence and was located in another jurisdiction later.


Wednesday, March 5


An officer responded at 7:30 a.m. to Converse Avenue on an unruly juvenile who was refusing to go to school. Upon arrival the officer spoke with the juvenile and their parent. The child then got on the bus to go to school.


Officers responded at 5:06 p.m. to a reported dispute in the alley beside North Chillicothe Street.


Friday, March 7


Officers responded at 12:19 a.m. to Stenner Court in reference to suspicious circumstances.


An officer responded at 9:56 a.m. to an alarm drop at South Jefferson Avenue. Upon arrival and after further investigation the officer learned that the alarm had accidentally been activated by an employee.


An officer responded at 10:26 p.m. to West Main Street in reference to a driving complaint. Dispatch advised that an anonymous caller stated that a black SUV was driving all over the roadway on state Route 161 from Dublin. The officer located the vehicle and initiated a stop. The driver had been consuming an alcoholic beverage, but successfully completed the Field Stability Test. Another driver was summoned to the scene and the party was released.


An officer responded at 11:28 p.m. to West Main Street in reference to suspicious persons.


While on routine patrol at 11:51 p.m. an officer could smell a strong odor of natural gas coming from the area of Jackson Street. The officer advised dispatch to have Engine 261 respond to the scene.


Saturday, March 8


While on patrol an officer observed at 2:18 a.m. several subjects on West Bigelow Avenue involved in a verbal dispute. The parties were separated before any physical altercation took place.


An officer responded at 12:53 p.m. to East Main Street in reference to a theft.


An officer responded at 2:18 p.m. to Willowbend Circle in regards to a telecommunication harassment.


Sunday, March 9


An officer responded at 4:47 p.m. to Wellsley Way in reference to a missing person. Upon further investigation the party was located.


An officer initiated a traffic stop at 6:13 p.m. on South Jefferson Avenue. Upon further investigation Gerald O. Lovett, 53, of Xenia,was subsequently arrested and charged with OVI, speed, driving under suspension and open container. He was transported to the Tri-County Regional Jail. A passenger Scott B. McCracken, 46, of Xenia, was also issued a summons for open container and released.
