Need help with a worthwhile project? Members of a local youth group are looking for community service opportunities as a week-long mission.
F.U.E.L. Mennonite Youth Fellowship, from the Sharon Mennonite Church in Plain City, is doing its first “Work Camp” this summer locally. Members are looking for projects within 30 minutes of the church.
“We are currently looking for projects to tackle,” said Jared Chase, youth pastor. “The hope is that we can get projects like, but not limited to: building wheelchair ramps, other light construction, painting, and landscaping.”
Those making nominations to asked to only provide projects that are true needs. For example, individuals who can’t physically do the work or they have a project that is out of their means financially.
The youth program is comprised of sixth through 12th grade and does include some post high students.
“For the work camp week, the vision is to make kingdom impact as a youth program,” Chase said. “We will have students and adults on work cites as to create learning environments and discipleship opportunities as well.”
If you know of an individual in need, contact Chase at 614-873-8290 or 614-530-8329.
The church is located at 7675 Amity Pike, Plain City.
