The wife of a Madison-Plains alumnus, who sings opera, will give a recital Monday evening.
Elise DesChamps, married to opera bass Brian Banion, will sing in recital at 8:30 p.m., Monday, March 28 in Weigal Hall on the Ohio State University campus.
“Elise is performing her first of a number of recitals in connection with her DMA (Doctor of Musical Arts) studies at Ohio State University,” said Banion in an email.
DesChamps will offer a program of Bach, Haydn, Debussy, Ponchielli, Harbison, and Mercure. OSU faculty member Ed Bak will accompany on piano.
The program is free and open to the public.
DesChamps, who has been teaching voice at Capital University, is one of 10 finalists for the 2016 Audrey Rooney Vocal Competition, presented by the Kentucky Bach Choir.
Banion said to qualify, she submitted live recordings for their screening process. She offered two Bach arias and a Haydn Aria, and the finals will be Saturday, April 9 in Lexington, Kentucky.
