DAR recognizes 56 Auto’s flag


The London auto dealership flies a massive flag above its business, located at 781 State Route 56. The Daughters of the American Revolution certificate was given in honor of Flag Day, which was June 14.

The London Daughters of the American Revolution chapter presented a certificate of award for proper use, correct display, and patriotic presentation of the Flag of the United States of America to owners Kennison A. A local business is being recognized for its unique show of patriotism.

The London Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution presented a certificate of appreciation to 56 Auto Sales and owners Kennison A. Sims and Dave Long for its patriotic gesture.

The certificate was given in honor of Flag Day, which was June 14.

“The London DAR wishes to express their gratitude for this wonderful display of patriotism which can be viewed for many miles across the country side,” a spokesperson said.

Nancy DeCamp is Chapter Chairman of the Flag of the United States of America, which was formed in 1909 to promote a strong patriotic feeling and respect for the flag. This committee’s objectives are to keep the flag flying, to protect it continuously under all conditions, and to educate citizens regarding its correct usage.

“What better way to celebrate America than to fly the flag!” the spokesperson added.
