London High School Senior Mackenzie Minner is the October London Rotary Student of the Month.
Students are selected by London High School administration based on the following criteria: academic and extracurricular achievement and positive character.
Minner begins her senior year as two-year member of the National Honor Society with a 3.9 grade-point average. She has participated in volleyball and basketball four years earning first team all-league honors in both sports and first team all-district in volleyball and second team all-district in basketball.
Additionally, she was named Athlete of the Week by the Columbus Dispatch for volleyball and basketball.
Minner lists Spanish 4 as her favorite class. She said former basketball coach Bob Williams inspires her.
“Mr. Williams always believed in me and my teammates and encouraged me to do my best in school and sports,” she said.
Williams said, “No one works harder than Mackenzie. She is a young person who makes everyone around her better. She is a born leader, has a kind heart and has made me a better coach.”
Minner plans to attend college and major in speech pathology and audiology.
She is the daughter of Robert and Jennifer Minner.
