New, replacement issues on Nov. 7 ballot


There are a handful of new issues and replacement issues on the ballot Nov. 7 facing Madison County voters. These include:

— Plain City East – Local Liquor Option (By Petition): This option would allow the sale of wine and mixed beverages and spirituous liquor on Sunday between 10 a.m. and midnight by Ronald R. Winn, dba Lee’s Sports & Spirits & Patio, an applicant for a D-6 liquor permit, who is engaged in the business of operating a bar/restaurant at 209 W. Bigelow Ave., Plain City.

— Pike Township – Proposed Tax Levy (Renewal and Increase): This is a renewal of 2.88 mills and an increase of 0.24 mill to constitute a tax for Pike Township for the purpose of fire protection and emergency squad service at a rate not exceeding 3.12 mills for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to $0.312 for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for 5 years, commencing in 2018, first due in calendar year 2019.

— Somerford Township – Proposed Tax Levy (Replacement): This is a replacement of a tax for Somerford Township for the purpose of fire protection at a rate not exceeding 1 mill for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to $0.10 for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for 5 years , commencing in 2018, first due in calendar year 2019.

— Village of South Solon – Proposed Tax Levy (Additional): An additional tax for the village of South Solon for the purpose of current expenses at a rate not exceeding 2.885 mills for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to $0.2885 for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for 5 years, commencing in 2017, first due in calendar year 2018.
