The H.EL.P. House, located at 122 E. Center St. in London, is planning its next outreach to prepare for the winter months ahead.
Many of the H.E.L.P. House kids, families, and adults cannot afford to purchase new coats or accessories for the upcoming winter. Whether living on a small fixed income, surviving a job loss, stressed with medical expenses, or coping with a mixture of other reasons, purchasing winter wear can be low on the priority list or financially impossible.
As always, the H.E.L.P. House will focus on kids. Currently, the inventory shows a shortage of small sizes for young children. Adult sizes are needed as many high school kids wear adult sizes, and parents/guardians also will be assisted with cold weather clothing.
Donations may include new or gently-used: coats, jackets, gloves, mittens, hats, scarves and boots. The winter wear will be available to clients on Saturday, Oct. 21.
For the outreach drop off donations by noon on Wednesday, Oct. 18. Drop-off times are Monday from noon to 7 p.m.; Tuesday from 9 a.m. to noon; Wednesday from 8 a.m. to noon; and Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.
Questions may be directed to BJ Bryant at firstname.lastname@example.org or by texting 740-500-8986.
Volunteers are needed on Wednesday, Oct. 18 from noon to 2 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. to hang up and arrange coats and other donations, and Saturday, Oct. 21 from 8:30-11 a.m. for assisting clients and managing the coat racks.
Volunteers need to email Chandra Kelly email@example.com or text 614-202-1741 to indicate times they can be of assistance or questions.
Beyond the designated outreach on Oct. 21, the H.E.L.P. House will continue distributing coats and winter wear throughout the cold months ahead and donations are gratefully accepted.
