Police investigating London shooting Tuesday

London police detectives are investigating a shooting that happened shortly before 1 p.m. Tuesday.

According to London police, officers along with Madison County EMS and London Fire personnel responded to a shooting at 19 W. Fifth St.

Officers located a 25-year-old male resident who had been shot in the torso with apparently a small caliber handgun. The victim was identified as Brandon Gonzalez.

Police say there were no other witnesses present inside the residence on arrival of the officers, so initial information is limited.

Reports, however, say at least one unknown suspect was involved. There was no further suspect description given by the victim at the scene.

Police report the victim was conscious and and transported by medics to Grant Hospital in Columbus.

The shooting remains under investigation by London Police detectives. The Madison County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene and is continuing to assist in the investigation along with the Madison County Prosecutor’s Office and BCI crime scene agents.
