The H.E.L.P. House in London is in need of, yes help.

Delores Heilman, director of the H.E.L.P. House in London spoke of different items that the H.E.L.P. House is currently in need of.

“We are having difficulty getting meat, getting canned meat, or any canned goods really,” said Heilman.

“Prices are going up, which means a lot of things aren’t available anymore that we used to get from Mid-Ohio Food Bank.”

According to its website, H.E.L.P. House exists to serve children, families, and individuals in need by providing food, clothing, shelter, emergency assistance and God’s love.

They also will take canned fruits and vegetables, clothes, some furniture, and health care items as well.

“We also give out meals on Monday nights. We take it to home bound and also to the seniors,” said Heilman.

The H.E.L.P. House serves those who struggle using food stamps, or need personal assistance. They come in and shop like they are at a grocery store. Heilman said, “It’s a choice pantry … It’s almost like a general store as far as our items are concerned … we just have a little bit of everything.”

The H.E.L.P. House serves hundreds of families, with over half of them including children. Many of their clients are employed full-time but still cannot make ends meet. Others are grandparents who found themselves as the sole providers of young grandchildren. Other clients are disabled or putting their lives back together.

Whatever the situation may be, the H.E.L.P. House believes its clients are human beings in need of some assistance.

The H.E.L.P. House accepts donations of all sorts, but also benefits from monetary donations.
