Each year, The London Strawberry Festival selects several outstanding young ladies to represent the festival as royalty. This year, the festival has opened its pageant to include girls from surrounding areas.
The London Strawberry Festival will be held Thursday, June 22 through Saturday, June 24.
The contestants may be a Madison County resident, attend a Madison County school or one of these districts: Fairbanks, Mechanicsburg, Miami Trace, Southeastern, Northeastern, South-Western, Hilliard, Dublin, Westfall, Greenview, Washington Court House and Marysville.
These young ladies have the opportunity to travel the state of Ohio, meeting new people, enjoying various luncheons, tours activities and parades. Each queen will receive a scholarship, beautiful round crown, embroidered sash, roses and other prizes. Upon completion of her reign, they will receive a scholarship. Attendants will receive a beautiful tiara, embroidered sash, roses and other prizes. All contestants receive a trophy and certificate.
Contestants must attend a mandatory contestant and parent meeting at 7 p.m. on Monday, June 19 at the EMA building, 271 Elm St., located next to the Madison County Fairgrounds in London. The meeting will acquaint contestants with competition guidelines and provide a brief pageant clinic. Photos for local papers will be taken at this time. Girls making the London Strawberry Festival court will need to attend a meeting on Monday, June 26 with a parent or legal guardian. This meeting will include formal portraits by Elegance Photography and dinner.

The baby pageant is open to anyone, anywhere from 0-3 years old. All contestants receive a trophy and certificate. One winner in each division will receive a larger trophy, ribbon sash and other prizes. Anyone interested may obtain an application at LondonStrawberryFestival.com. There are no meeting or travel requirements for babies, however, photos for the paper will be taken at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, June 19 at the EMA building next to the Madison County Fairgrounds.
All shortcake and royalty contestants must attend the June 19 meeting with a parent/legal guardian. All court members (winners) must attend the June 26 meeting with a parent/guardian. No exceptions will be made for any reason.
