London Middle School musicians excel

Several London Middle School vocal and instrumental students attended the Ohio Music Education Association solo and ensemble contest on Saturday, April 5, held at Westland High School.Receiving Superior ratings (I, the highest given) on instrumental solos were Sadie Large, Leila Oswalt, Danielle Bechtel, Julie Adkins and Lily Marriott.Additionally, the London Middle School Saxophone trio, comprised of Oswalt, Collin Thompson, and Thomas Eagle also received a superior on their ensemble.Hobbes Treynor received an excellent rating (II) on his piano solo.

The commissioners approved Monday, April 14 the next set of applicants in the county’s agricultural easement purchase program for 2014, as recommended by Julia Cumming, of the soil and water district.Cumming recommended adding to the list of eligible farms the names of Dale Sheridan, 179 acres, and Pat and Larry Kelly, 150 acres.
