Jonathan Alder Local Schools recently received a clean bill of financial health and an award from Ohio Auditor of State Dave Yost.On March 27, Yost’s office announced the district as one of 10 recipients of The Auditor of State Award for “exemplary financial reporting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles or GAAP.”An independent auditor’s report found no deficiencies in internal compliance and no evidence of fraud or wrongdoing during the 2013 fiscal year.Yost’s announcement was good news for district residents and staff.

Ohio Wildlife Council approves 2014-2015 hunting regulations

COLUMBUS — The Ohio Wildlife Council approved new white-tailed deer hunting regulations at its meeting on Wednesday, April 9, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR). Among new regulations are decreased deer bag limits in many counties, and hunters may use straight-walled cartridge rifles during the 2014 deer-gun week. The council also voted to remove bobcats from Ohio’s list of threatened species.
