London Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) recently elected Elizabeth Roby as the chapter outstanding junior at the March 18 meeting.
A junior is a DAR member age 18 through 35 years of age. She holds full DAR membership, and when qualified, may serve as an officer or committee chair at the chapter, state, and national levels.
Roby serves as chapter junior membership chair and is co-chairman of the DAR Good Citizen committee. She also serves as chapter treasurer.
Junior members are encouraged to take advantage of opportunities to learn, grow, and lead our organization. Serving the DAR as an active junior can enhance a young woman’s leadership and interpersonal skills while benefiting her community.
The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution was founded in 1890 to promote historic preservation, education and patriotism. Its members are descended from the patriots who won American independence during the Revolutionary War. With more than 183,000 members in approximately 3,000 chapters worldwide, DAR is one of the world’s largest and most active service organizations.
