Every year across the United States all chapters of Phi Beta Psi honor those six outstanding women who came together to form the Phi Beta Psi Sorority on Feb. 15, 1904 in Columbus, Ohio.
This year the Iota Beta Chapter of Phi Beta Psi held its annual Founder’s Day celebration at the Brennen Loft. There were 36 chapter members, three associate chapter members, and two national officers in attendance.
A special ceremony was held in honor of May Eva Lied Smith, Gertrude Brown Foster, Anna McSweeny Martin, Katherine Marie Rudor Routzong, Mildred Daniel Van Atta and Edith Ellen Wolf.
“We are eternally thankful to these women for forming the Sorority of Phi Beta Psi,” a spokesperson said. “A sorority to foster friendships and service to one’s community as well as cancer research.”
