The Plain City Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution met Nov. 12 for its last business meeting of a busy year.
Chaplin Pat Rose swore in the 2016-2019 officers: Janet Kaufman, registrar; Jennie Lester, treasurer; Wanda DuPuis, corresponding secretary; Joy Ballard, vice regent; and Valerie Merideth, regent.
As a Commemorative Partner of the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War, the chapter participated in several Veterans activities: the Fairbanks High School Salute to Veterans, Honor Flights at John Glenn Columbus International Airport where they greeted the veterans returning from Washington, D.C., the April 23 Honor Flight, and the September All-Women and October Vietnam Purple Heart Recipients.
Members had a float in the Memorial Day and Independence Day parades and participated in Memorial Day ceremonies at the Forest Grove Cemetery and Darby Township Cemetery in Unionville Center.
Winners of the Good Citizen Scholarship were honored. Entries will be submitted for the Junior American Citizen National Parks contest.
Four delegates attended the Ohio State Convention. At their regular meetings, they held a memorial service for two of our dearly departed Daughters and enjoyed a guest speaker portraying Nellie Fairbanks.
A field trip was enjoyed to the Ohio Veteran Memorial Park and the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery where they had guided tours.
