The 32nd annual Tatman reunion was held Saturday, July 18, at Goshen Memorial Park in Mechanicsburg.
One hundred and twenty-three family members and guests endured a hot, humid day. Family members enjoyed a variety of activities: the white elephant switch-a-roo, bubble gum blowing contest and the ever popular water balloon toss.
Darrell Bussey gave the blessing for the bountiful meal.
Everyone enjoyed a patriotic theme this year. Decorations were flags, stars, and Uncle Sam, Abraham Lincoln and George Washington. The invitations incorporated patriotic colors and words in rhyme and was written by Elyta Manns.
Henry and Dolly Belle Seitz Tatman were married in September of 1886. Henry and Dolly had 10 children who lived to marry and have children. They were: William, Elma, Clayton, Stella, Emza, Charley, Lester, Dema Esther, Addie and Albert. Three of the 10 siblings had family members in attendance at this year’s reunion.

Representing Charley and Ethel Tatman were: Nellie Tatman and Sara Tatman of Springfield; Charlie and Paula Tatman, Grove City; and Mike, Tracie and Aaron Tatman of Marysville.
Representing Grover Cleveland and Dema Esther Bussey were: Gene and Marilyn Bussey, Kathy Samson, Marie Ferguson, James Bussey, Louann Murray, Corey Samson, Chris, April, Nate and Courtney LeMaster, Bobby and Lavonda Long, Jordan Long, Jacob Long, Robert, Jamie, BJ, and Cerstin Parsons of London.

Marriages reported since the last reunion: Joshua Lyons, grandson of the late Charles and Lois Earles, married Amber Fulton on Sept. 13, 2014; Brian and Sharon Windle, Nov. 11, 2014 (Brian is the grandson of Elsie Windle and the late Paul Windle); and Adam and Shelbi Windle April 28, 2015 (Adam is the grandson of Elsie Windle and the late Paul Windle, great-grandson of the late Grover and Dema Esther Bussey).
Sadly, the deaths of the following were reported: Lois (Bussey) Earles, Sept. 30, 2014, daughter of the late Grover and Dema Esther (Tatman) Bussey; Freda Spurgeon, Nov. 26, 2014, daughter of the late Bob and Emza (Tatman) Pierce; and Shari Purdie, Feb. 6, 2015, daughter of Marie Purdie, the granddaughter of the late Charles and Lois Earles and great-granddaughter of the late Grover and Dema Esther Bussey.
