all the deaths from drinking I never ever see a article the reads that all those folks died in the car wreck because they were smoking pot no one has ever died from smoking pot to put people in jail for smoking a joint the most stupid thing i ever heard of man made booze god made grass who do you trust the pot laws are so out dated its puts alott of youth in jail and ruins there live like this guy for a weed make it legal and be done with it?

This is great, but what nobody is talking about is all the great teachers London is losing. Why does that continue to happen? Is it money, district leadership, or something else? I’m glad they are doing better finically, but if they have a reserve and they refuse to give their teachers a raise, then we will continue to lose the best teachers. London’s pay is the lowest in Madison County and ranks toward the bottom of central Ohio. We can afford to add an assistant principal at the middle school and pay the Superintendent, who doesn’t live in the district, a large sum of money, but the teachers continue to be put on the back burners. In the end, the most important thing for my child is the teacher in the classroom and they seem to be the group of people who continue to suffer. Just my opinion as a concerned parent.

It’s good to see that the London School Board, the Treasurer, and the Superintendent, now have accountability for their actions. As a voter, I think that is what we the voters want to see.

i have to disagree! i believe this mans right were violated and the cops “jumped the gun” on this one…also marijuana is no worse than alcohol actually its not as dangerous in my opinion, this man was not out “selling drugs to kids” as you said he was merely growing some pot, probably for personal use due to the amount As to the “8 lbs” figure when the police bust someone for cultivating they pull the plants and weigh the roots, stalk and dirt that sticks to the roots and all of that is not useable, so i am sure it wasn’t even close to 8 lbs! When its all dried out and ready to smoke there is but maybe a pound or two of actual smokable marijuana that would be yielded out of 2 or 3 plants.. and just for the record i do not do ANY drugs or drink…in the past i have, but i had to give all that up… with that said the reason for this comment was not because i use the drug myself … i will say this marijuana is a gateway drug that usually leads to the use of harder drugs but i believe if it was regulated like alcohol is, that would possibly lessen the problem not to mention it would be a great revenue for our screwed up country …

Can we please remember that people make mistakes? The treasurer was far from inept, with many good years of service behind her. Jumping to conclusions and putting people down will not solve anything.

I have volunteered and subbed in JA schools for many years, and have never seen so many dedicated, hard-working people. They are not there for the money – almost any other school district would pay them more, and it may be time for our community to realize we will soon get what we pay for. We have ridiculously low taxes for the caliber of our schools, prices for everything just keep going up, and technology is expensive! If we want to keep Jonathan Alder Schools great, let’s consider putting our money where it will count.

Mount Sterling is lucky to have at least one council member that asks questions, that would be Diane Spradlin who in my opinion has what is best for the village and the tax payer on her agenda. THANK YOU DIANE for speaking for the revenue payers.
I can make bets that if you asked our council members what they were getting ready to vote on that atleast 3 of them would not know.
This chunk of the general fund is close to $125,000 and when Spradlin asked for more details, it is SAD that the Mayor can not give those details during that meeting. (In my opinion it was brushed off when he answered we will get you more specific information by the next meeting . Why wouldn’t you have that information there if you are putting it on YET another emergecy vote)

The village got rid of the police department when they siad they couldn’t operate in their budget, so why are we not getting rid of the street department and turning it over to the county? (that’s a joke for those of you at town hall that will be coping this and passing it around to your buddy saying look what that Walt Rice posted)

The people of Mount Sterling desevre better than what we are getting from those that serve for us. This up coming election is our chance to get our village back on track and start doing things that are for the better of our community. Too long has our little village been going down and not to fault everyone running it now, but trying to do a little good now is just a little too late to have any real effect on you getting re-elected or even have a chance when you are up for re-election.

There are 4 people running for council that will work for the people and together to bring the Villa back from where it is heading. MSF4 in 2013

It’s not just the kids who will suffer. MANY teachers will lose their jobs/careers due to something they had NO control over. Homes will be lost. Sons and daughters will suffer. All because a treasurer without the proper college degree and training was solely in charge of a budget and the superintendent didn’t even check the numbers. Why does he still have his job? Why did they buy off the treasurer? The TEACHERS and STUDENTS will suffer.

Unbelievable! How can this happen. Dont we have competent people in the school. I am glad my son graduates and my other kids go to another school. I feel sorry for the students because that is who this will ultimately get hurt in this!

Give us facts that support your argument that the City was in any way “stealth” in this election. You won’t, because you can’t, because there are no facts to support such a false assertion.
