Senior citizens can sign up for SFMNP coupons

Senior citizens, attention!


It’s time to apply for the Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP). The program provides senior citizens with an opportunity to purchase locally grown produce with coupons distributed through the program.


Interested seniors should apply at the Madison County Senior Center, 280 W. High St, London. Contact Cathy Fisher at (740) 852-3001.


Coupon distribution will take place from 1-3 p.m. on Thursday, June 12.


Eligibility includes:


• Age 60 years or older


• Annual income of 185 percent of poverty, $21,590 for single person; $29,101 for household of two.


Participants will receive 10 five-dollar coupons to be redeemed at London Farmers’s Market or any farmers market vendor displaying a sign saying they accept the coupons.
