County commissioners determined Monday the time has come to have those four clocks read the same time on all four sides of the courthouse tower.

Madison County has four prominent faces of time.

When they don’t all “tell” the same time, residents notice and commissioners receive timely messages.

County commissioners determined Monday the time has come to have those four clocks read the same time on all four sides of the courthouse tower. To do it will take repair of the gearbox which governs the minute-to-minute movement of the giant hands. Cost: $1,200. It also includes cleaning.

In the commissioners’ meeting with the park board, Julia Cumming reported the county chapter of Pheasants Forever will donate the seed for the prairie reseeding of the Little Darby Nature Preserve. Julia Cumming said the seed will be sown by a no-till method to minimize or eliminate any soil run-off during rains.

Cumming said also the park board wants to conduct an invasive species removal with a date and time to be determined. She said the park board will provide “snack bags.”

Board member Rodger Lynch inquired about “share the road” signs which could be posted on Olmstead Road in Jefferson and Fairfield Townships.
