Teen indicted in fatal Ohio crash

DAYTON (AP) — Prosecutors say a 19-year-old Ohio woman was drunk when she drove on the wrong side of Interstate 75 last summer, causing a crash that killed one person and seriously injured another.

The Dayton Daily News reports Rachel Schidecker’s blood alcohol level was 0.236 percent at the time of the Aug. 11 crash. That’s 10 times the legal limit of 0.02 percent for drivers under 21 in Ohio, and nearly three times the legal limit for adult drivers.

A grand jury indicted Schidecker on Tuesday on various charges that included aggravated vehicular homicide.

Prosecutors say the teen drove the wrong way on I-75 in Dayton for four miles before her Ford Explorer crashed head-on into another SUV. The crash killed 39-year-old Chereece Rule of Kansas City, Mo.
