Fred Jay Morris, 77, of West Jefferson, passed away peacefully Monday, March 18, 2013, in Doctors West Hospital, Columbus, surrounded by his loving family.

Fred was a graduate of West Jefferson High School in 1954.

He served his tool and die apprenticeship at Westinghouse, onto Snyder Tool & Die, Dryco and served as an engineer at Ranco in Delaware. He retired from Columbus Auto Parts Manufacturing.

Survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Shirley Morris; three children, LuAnn (Phil) Sheridan of West Jefferson, SuAnn (Rob) Wheeler of London; and son, Don Morris of Springfield; sisters, Judy (Cecil) Carl of Florida and JoAnn Walters of Delaware; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and a special niece and nephew Susan and Jim Hahn.

Preceded in death by parents, Jay and Nancy Morris; sisters, Lucille Ogilvie and Frances Sullivan.

Calling hours will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 21, at the RADER-McDONALD FUNERAL HOME, 1355 W. Main St., West Jefferson. Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 22, 2013, at the First Baptist Church of West Jefferson. Rev. Glade May will be officiating. Burial will follow in Hampton Cemetery, West Jefferson.
