KNISLEY

Thomas Dwight Knisley, 60, of Springfield, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2013, in the Springfield Regional Medical Center.

He was born on Feb. 18, 1953, in Springfield, Ohio, the son of Marion and Janice Knisley.

Prior to his illness Thomas had worked for the Purex-Dial Corp for over 40 years.

He was a proud member of the NRA and the United Industrial Workers of North America.

In his spare time he enjoyed coin and knife collecting. He was also a fan of Star Trek and riding motorcycles with his wife Janice.

He was preceded in death by his father; son, Clarence Bennett; daughter, Marlene Stepp; granddaughter, Tracy; and his dogs, Cookie, Scooter, and Petey.

Survivors include his mother, Janice Knisley Daniels; his wife of 34 years, Janice (Bevins) Knisley, whom he married Nov. 18, 1978; three daughters, Rochelle (Jim) McKean, Darlene (Tony) Armstrong and Mindy (Shawn) Brandenburg; three sons, Roy (Gayle) Stepp, Carl Stepp, and David (Karen) Stepp; his twin brother, Tim (Debbie) Knisley; two sisters, Shirley (Dave) Morris and Barbara (Joe) Castiaux; 17 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, and his dog Boomer.

Visitation will be held from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Tuesday, March, 12, 2013, in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME, 838 E. High St., Springfield. A service to honor Thomas will be Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. in the Memorial Home. Pastor Bruce Sigman will be officiating. A fellowship potluck dinner for family and friends will follow immediately at the Springfield Moose Lodge, 1802 Selma Road, Springfield.

I am truly sorry too hear of Tom’s passing, my prayers and condolences go out to the entire family.I knew of Tom and his brother Tim in our high school days.I also was a neighbor at Chas.Court to his mother Janice, so may he rest in peace and the entire family and friends seek comfort and lean on God’s shoulder in their time of grief.
