Bomb squad called to Tolles

Tolles Technical School, located on US 42, Plain City, contacted the Madison County Sheriff’s Office to report a bomb threat Friday morning.

The sheriff’s office, along with the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation Crime Scene, began a criminal investigation into the threat.

The Columbus Bomb Squad was contacted and responded to the school. The bomb squad, in conjunction with staff members from the School, conducted a through search of the premises.

During the search, Bomb Technicians, along with K-9s trained in bomb detection, were utilized. Nothing suspicious was located during the search.

The search was conducted before classes began in efforts not to disrupt normal school operations. The Sheriff’s Office will have extra deputies at the school throughout the remainder of the day. The Bomb Squad will remain at the school until students arrive, and classes begin.
