TATMAN

Gilbert Eugene Tatman, 92, of London, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Monday, Feb. 4, 2013.

He graduated from New Lexington High School. He joined the CCC where he met and later married Zula McCombs on Christmas Day 1940.

Eugene served in the Army Air Corps during World War II as a B-17 pilot and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross.

After his military service, he worked for the railroad, North American Rockwell and COTA before retiring.

Eugene and Zula lived in Columbus until they retired to Sun City West, Arizona. They lived there for 10 years before moving to London, Ohio.

Eugene is survived by his wife of 72 years, Zula; his four children, Barbara Sharon (Dan) Petrosky of Huntsville, Alabama, Micki (Al) Hane of Grove City, Ohio, Sonya (Joe) Cramer of Oceanside, California, and Brad (Joan) Tatman of Dublin, Ohio; as well as two brothers, C.E. (Hazel) and Dwight (Janet) Tatman; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at SCHOEDINGER FUNERAL HOME, 3030 W. Broad St., Columbus, Ohio. Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. prior to the Service. Private inurnment.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite military charity.
