Police ID body found in Columbus dumpster

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Columbus police have identified a man whose body was found in a trash bin last week.

The man is reported to be 31-year-old Nathan Birdsall of Chillicothe.

His body was found Friday afternoon by someone going through the trash bin looking for scrap metal at an apartment complex on the city’s north side.

Police are treating the death as a homicide until the cause of the death is determined, but they say it’s possible the man climbed into the bin to keep warm.

There were no visible signs of trauma, and the coroner said an initial autopsy failed to determine how he died.
