It was a battle of two teams who have had their fair share of struggles this season.
Both the girls basketball teams at Jonathan Alder and London have been through tough losses, experienced growing pains and have rode the roller coaster of emotions this entire winter.
Both the host Pioneers and the visiting Lady Red Raiders are young teams and both appear to have extremely bright futures as a host of underclassmen dominate each roster.
However on Wednesday night the Pioneers (5-13) were the ones smiling from ear to ear following a dominating 59-26 home triumph.
With the loss the Raiders fell to 4-17 on the season.
London will close out the regular season portion of the schedule Saturday when it hosts Washington in search of the first South Central Ohio League win of the year.
Alder will next play in the opening round of the Division II Central District tournament on Feb. 16 when it travels to play No. 7 seed Granville.
The Red Raiders will also play its tournament opener that afternoon when they road trip to take on No. 3 seed Bishop Hartley.
The win for Alder was its first since a Jan. 26 defeat of Marion Pleasant. London on the other hand hasn’t tasted the sweet taste of victory since it knocked off visiting Fairbanks on Jan. 21, seven games ago.
