SPEAKMAN

Dennis Speakman, 82, of Sedalia, Ohio, passed away Friday, Jan. 25, 2013.

He was born Oct. 22, 1930, to the late Neal and Delores Rackham Speakman in Columbus, Ohio.

Dennis was a Franklin County Deputy Sheriff and escorted funerals with Police Motorcycle Escorts for many years.

He was a motorcycle Safety Instructor.

Served in the U.S. Army.

Dennis had a passion for life and pursue many endeavors. He organized the Sport Skydiving and Parachute Club, was an accomplish guitarist and played many venues solo and with the band. He loved the outdoors, riding, camping, sky diving, and entertaining. We remember this man with smiles, fun and laughter.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Priscilla, of the residence; sons, Jack Speakman, Quintin Speakman; daughters, Vickie (Charles) Walker, Nancy Speakman, Denise (Mark) Krouse, and their mother, Alice Henwood; stepsons, Wade (Sheila) Tackett, Jason Tackett; stepdaughter, Ellery (Michael) Payne; 26 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and we want to mention his pets, Jake and Lilly.

Friends may call at the O. R. WOODYARD CO. CHAPEL, 1346 S. High St., Columbus, from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29. The funeral service will be held at The Sedalia Church of Christ in Christian Union, Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, where friends may also call from 11 a.m until time of service at 1 p.m. Pastor Gordon Ell will be officiating. Interment will be Bethel Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, family suggest contributions be directed to either Disabled American Veterans or The Sedalia Church of Christ in Christian Union in his memory.
