Maxine E. Miller, 89, of Avon Lake, formerly of London, died Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, in the Main Street Care Center, Avon Lake.

Born June 20, 1923 in Lebanon, she was a daughter of Max and Marjorie (Holt) Markley.

Maxine was a long time member of the Lafayette United Methodist Church and had cooked at the former Deercreek School in Lafayette.

Survivors include her son, Gary Miller of London; daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Gerald Roberts of Avon Lake and Vikki and Ron Zaremski of Powell; son-in-law, David Pendleton of Northville, Michigan; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Marilyn Chamberlain of Lebanon; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Ivan R. Miller on Nov. 2, 1997; daughter, Sharon Pendleton; sisters, Norma, Esther and Virginia; and brother, Jim.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, in the Lafayette United Methodist Church, 1615 Cumberland St. (U.S. Route 40), London. Pastor Carolyn Peacock will be officiating. Friends may call at the church from 1:30 p.m. until time of services Friday.  Interment will be at the family’s convenience in Deercreek Township Cemetery.

If they wish, friends may make memorial contributions to the Lafayette United Methodist Church.
