McSAVANEY

Richard E. “Monk” McSavaney, 82, of London, died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, in his residence.

Born June 8, 1930, in London, he was a son of Robert Thomas and Imogene (Galloway) McSavaney.

He will be greatly missed by family, friends and all who knew him.

Richard retired as a corrections officer at London Correction Facility as well retiring from the Madison County Engineer’s Office.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Maxine (Witbeck) McSavaney; son and daughter-in-law, John R. (Cheryl) McSavaney; daughter, Darlene Brake; grandchildren, Cheron (Robbie) Geesling, Stacey (Scott) Seaburn, Amy Brake and Richie Brake; great-granddaughter, Kenna Marie Seaburn; great-grandson, Gavin Brake, all of London; several nieces and nephews including Susan (James) Waldren and Cindy Harris, both of London; sisters-in-law, Jean Witbeck and Joyce (Jack) Raub, both of London, Mim Distl of Hendersonville, North Carolina; several cousins including Bill Ervin of London; and numerous members of the Markley family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, James; and sister, Becky Guffey.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, in Deercreek Township Cemetery, Lafayette. Pastor Carolyn Peacock will be officiating. Friends may call at the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 N. Main St., London, Ohio, from 4-7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6.
