Marjorie Mains, 83, of Upper Arlington, Ohio, entered into eternal rest Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013.
She was born Sept. 3, 1929, in Columbus, to the late Cletus and Dorothy Murray.
Marjorie grew up in West Jefferson, Ohio.
She was a 1947 graduate of St. Mary’s of the Springs in Columbus. In 1951, Marjorie graduated from Seton Hill University with a B.A. in sociology and a minor in psychology.
She married John T. Mains on Nov. 27, 1965. They made their home in Upper Arlington.
Marjorie was a long-time member of St. Timothy Church and volunteered for the American Cancer Society. She was a devout Catholic, never spoke a cross word, enjoyed traveling, and spending summers on Platte Lake in Michigan.
In addition to her parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, John T. Mains; and brothers, James and John Murray.
Marjorie will be missed by her brother, Joseph (Suzanne) Murray of Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at St. Timothy Catholic Church, 1088 Thomas Lane, Columbus, OH 43220. Fr. Timothy M. Hayes, Celebrant. Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. at Greenfield Cemetery, Greenfield, Ohio. Family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road, Columbus, Ohio.
