Knights of Columbus Council to sponsor youth free-throw contest

All boys and girls ages 10-14 are invited to participate in the local competition for the 2013 Knights of Columbus Free-Throw Championship.

The local competition will be held from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12, at Jonathan Alder High School, 9200 U.S. Route 42 South, Plain City. There is no charge to enter.

The Knights of Columbus Free-Throw Championship is sponsored annually, with winners progressing through local, district and state competitions.

Last year, more than 151,000 sharpshooters participated in more than 3,100 local competitions.

All contestants at the local level are recognized for their participation in the event.

Participants are required to furnish proof of age and written parental consent.
