DOWNING

Larry Downing, 67, of Mt. Sterling, Ohio, passed Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013.

Larry graduated from Madison South High School in 1963.

He retired from Navistar International.

He served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Korea from 1968 through 1970.

Larry was owner of Downing Landscape for 10 years, and was an avid farm enthusiast.

He was a member of F.O.E., Moose Lodge, Mt. Sterling American Legion, and the Mt. Sterling Church of The Nazarene.

Larry is survived by his wife of 48 years, Marvine; son, Seth Downing (fiance, Jordan Webb); beloved granddaughter: Alexis, the light of his life; sisters, Kathleen Legg, Patricia (Steve) Jinkens; brothers, Jerry (Patricia) Downing, Richard (Cheryl) Downing, Frank (Dorothy) Downing, Gaylord (Chris) Downing; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Cheryl and Bill Dobbs, Melanie and Bob Crouso, Kevin and Teresa Weese, Harold and Nancy Weese; aunt and uncle, Harrylee and Patricia Downing; many nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Lois and Frank Downing; nephew, Joe Downing.

The family invites friends to call at the Mt. Sterling Church of The Nazarene, from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, where a funeral service will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013. The Reverend Ron Reynolds will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Range Township Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests that memorial contributions be made to Mt. Sterling Church of the Nazarene. Envelopes will be available at the church.

Larry’s funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the RADER-LYNCH & DODDS FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, 124 E. High St., London.
