DIXON
James W. Dixon, 92, of Plain City, passed away suddenly and peacefully Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 9, 2013.
Born Jan. 13, 1920, in Delaware County.
Jim started Truck Driving with Standard Oil Co. in 1953 and retired from Refiner’s Transport Co. in 1983.
A 32nd degree mason and Past Master of Urania Lodge No. 311 F&AM of Plain City and member of the Aladdin Shrine.
One of the founding members of the Plain City Little League, avid HO train collector and talented wood worker.
He cherished the time spent with his family especially teaching and coaching baseball with his son.
Preceded in death by parents, William and Helen (Martin) Dixon; wife, Ruth (Smith) Dixon in 1990; sisters, Wilma Headlee, Norma Crandell.
Survived by a heaven sent loving companion of 20 years, Reba Converse; son, James M. Dixon of Marysville; grandchildren, Craig (Kimberly) Dixon, Jana (Ryan Moore) Dixon; great-granddaughter, Alexa.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, at FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 202 E. Main St. (state Route 161 W.), Plain City, with a Masonic Service at 4 p.m. and where the funeral will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 14, 2013. Rev. Dr. Charles E. Stenner will be officiating. Burial will be at Forest Grove Cemetery.
