Nellie (Jean) Hamilton Smith, 83, passed away Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012.

Formerly of Jackson, Ohio, she resided the last few years in London, Ohio near her loving daughter, Shirley Phillips.

She was born May 7, 1929, to the late, Gabriel and Dee Wheeler of Franklin Furnace, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Lee Hamilton in 1981 and by Roy Smith; a stepdaughter, Janet Kearns; five sisters; and two brothers.

She is survived by daughters, Patty (Tom) Lambert of Jackson and Shirley (Joe) Phillips of London, Ohio; sons, Mike (Cheryl) Hamilton and David Hamilton of Obetz; 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; and a dear friend, Chester Ohlinger of London, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, at the LEWIS-GILLUM FUNERAL HOME, 28 Harding Ave., Jackson. Rev. Curt Combs will be officiating. Burial to follow in Fairmount Cemetery. Friends may call from 3-6 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 16, at the Lewis-Gillum Funeral Home in Jackson, Ohio.
