RUNYAN

Carl L. Runyan Sr., 75, of West Jefferson, passed away Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, in his residence with his family at his side.

Carl was born April 8, 1937, in Scottown, Ohio, the son of the late Walter and Edith Runyan.

Carl was retired from Jefferson Local schools.

A U.S. Army Veteran.

A member of the West Jefferson V.F.W. Post No. 7005 and American Legion Post No. 201.

Survivors include daughter, Carla (Larry) Stover of West Jefferson; son, Carl Runyan of West Jefferson; four grandchildren, Stephanie Runyan, Zachary Runyan, Paige Stover and Jocelyn Stover (Caleb Jones); a month old great-granddaughter, Sophie; brother, Fred (Patsy) Runyan of London; several nieces, nephews, and friends.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bonetta L. Combs Runyan; brothers, Don Runyan and Clarence Newman; sister, Mary Conley.

Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 17, in the RADER-McDONALD FUNERAL HOME, 1355 W. Main St., West Jefferson, where Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012. Rev. Jerry Newman will be officiating. Burial and Graveside Military Service will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Military Honors by the West Jefferson V.F.W. and American Legion.
