Jack R. Miller, 71, of West Jefferson, passed away Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, in Arbors West Nursing Center, West Jefferson.
He was born April 11, 1941, in Detroit, Michigan.
Jack was a longtime resident of West Jefferson.
He was retired from Fruehauf Trailer and his own trucking business.
He was a member of the Moose Lodge, was a West Jefferson Volunteer Firefighter, an auxiliary Madison County Deputy Sheriff and auxiliary West Jefferson Policeman.
He loved to travel, go to flea markets, was an avid OSU Football and Cleveland Indians Baseball fan.
Jack loved his family and enjoyed spending as much time with them as possible.
He is survived by his mother, Gertrude Miller of West Jefferson; wife, Judy of West Jefferson; daughter, Sheri (Doug) Young of West Jefferson; grandchildren, Tina (Brian) Smith and Brooke (Mike Foor) Young; great-grandchildren, Carson, Caiti, and Cami Smith; sisters, Patti (Jim) Sheehy and Beverly Vorhauer; brother, Bob (Nancy) Miller; brother-in-law, Steve (Priscilla) Johnson; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephew, cousins and friends.
Jack was preceded in death by his father, Robert Miller; granddaughter, Paige Young; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Byron and Mildred Johnson; sister-in-law, Carolyn Johnson.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, in the RADER-McDONALD FUNERAL HOME, 1355 W. Main St., West Jefferson, where Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 10, 2012. Pastor Larry Baker will be officiating. Burial will follow in Hampton Cemetery.
