Girls basketball: London no match for Massie

LEE’S CREEK – The Clinton-Massie (7-1, 5-0) girls basketball team  scored the first 16 points against visiting London (3-5, 1-5) Wednesday night and coasted to a 66-10 victory in South Central Ohio League play.

Sydney Brackemyre led the Falcons with 25 points, 15 rebounds and eight steals. Kasey Uetrecht chipped in with eight points and 12 boards. Erin Fair also grabbed 15 rebounds to go along witheight points.

Ally Robertson led the Red Raiders with five points.

The Falcons, who have won all their league games by at least 24 points, led 18-1 midway through the opening period, 25-4 after a quarter and shut out London in the second quarter to hold a 44-4 advantage at the break.

Massie scored 30 straight points before a London free throw made the score 50-5 with 3:46 left in the third quarter.

CM scored 12 more in a row after that to lead 62-5 early in the final period, the largest margin of the contest.

The Falcons reserves (6-2, 4-1) won 39-21 behind Megan Frederick’s 13 points. Gabby McCoy had eight for the Raiders (3-4, 1-4).
