The Shekinah Christian girls basketball team scored its third consecutive victory Thursday night, topping rival and host Jonathan Alder, 50-45.

“We lost our first two games of the season, but we have bounced back,” Flames coach Rod Yoder said. “It was a good win for us against a Division II school and our neighbors.

“I didn’t think we shot well at all, but, all in all, it was just a good win.”

The game was tied at 21 at halftime.

“We got wore down in the second half,” Jonathan Alder coach Terra McDaniels said. “We played hard defensively, but we just couldn’t get our shots to fall.”

Lacy Purdum led Alder (1-4) with 10, while Shekinah Christian (3-2) was paced by Annie Rohrer’s 11-point effort. Ashley Gingerich added 10 for the Flames.
