A London man is in Tri-County Regional Jail charged with aggravated robbery of the BP Station, 51 E. High St. in the city, on Saturday, Dec. 8.
Jason Uriah Nathan Copley, 19, 31 W. Fourth St., was arrested by city police about 11 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 17.
He was arraigned before Madison County Municipal Judge Eric M. Schooley who set a $100,000 bond in the case and scheduled a preliminary hearing for Thursday, Dec. 27.
London Police Chief Dave Wiseman said a tip led officers to Copley. They searched the Fourth Street home and found items that allegedly linked the man to the BP robbery.
Copley is accused of walking into the mini-mart about 4:11 a.m. and demanding money from the clerk. Although he did not show a gun, he implied that he had one.
He then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Aggravated robbery is a first-degree felony in Ohio, punishable by up to 11 years in prison and a fine of $20,000.
