WJPD searching for missing man

West Jefferson police ask for the public’s help in locating Joshua D.L. Smith, 21, formerly of 168 Smith St. in the village. Smith is wanted on a felony sex charge.
Smith is accused of engaging in sex with a 15-year-old girl at Converse Park on the evening of April 22, according to a police report.
Officer Brandon Smith said Smith is currently on probation in the county’s municipal court for misdemeanor convictions. He recently failed to show up for court-mandated appointments with a probation officer and is considered “at large.”
Smith is described as standing 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighing 155 pounds. He has sandy hair and a goatee. A cross is tattooed on the inside of his right forearm and a script on the left side of his chest.
Anyone with information about Smith’s whereabouts should call the West Jefferson Police Department at (614) 879-7672. All calls remain anonymous.

Ex-girlfriend – she died! Not like they broke up. I’m saying IF he did it that’s really crappy but i’m skeptical seeing as it happened 7 months ago and she just now complained.
