David Dale Thomas, 85, of West Jefferson, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, in his home with his family by his side.
He was born Sept. 18, 1927, in West Jefferson.
David was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
He was a farmer for many years with several other jobs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Fern Thomas; brothers, Charles, Louis and Richard Thomas; sisters, Irene Thomas and Mary Thomas Reece.
David is survived by his wife of 65 years, Margie; brother, Carl Thomas; daughters, Barbara (Larry) Butler, Donna (Larry) Tracy and Karen (Paul) Tipple; grandchildren, Amy Tracy, Josh (Kim) Ellison, Jeremy, Adam, and Tyler Arnold, and Whitney Tipple; great-grandchildren, Lily, Zander and Caden Ellison; special family, Ray Miller and Betty Herrnstein; numerous nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26, and from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, in the  RADER-McDONALD FUNERAL HOME, 1355 W. Main St., West Jefferson, where Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012. Rev. Patricia Oesterle will be officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
