Sterling Joint Ambulance District chief Dave Taylor is all smiles. The Sterling Joint Ambulance District’s levy passed Tuesday evening.

Dave Taylor can breathe of a sigh of relief today.

The chief of the Sterling Joint Ambulance District saw his levy request pass last night, 1705-1158, according to unofficial results from the Madison County and Pickaway counties board of elections.

In Madison County, the measure passed 891-552.

In Pickaway County, it was approved 814-606.

“I’m very pleased that the voters saw the importance and the need for it,” Taylor said.

Passage means the district will not have to cut crews.

The levy request was for an additional tax for the benefit of the Sterling Joint Ambulance District for the purpose of operating expenses at a rate not exceeding 1.8 mills for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to $0.18 for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for five years, commencing in 2012, first due in calendar year 2013.
