Peters II

James Milton “Milt” Peters II, 93, went to be with the Lord Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at Arbors of London.

Born Dec. 21, 1918, at Grant Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by parents, Nellie Hulda Morse-Peters and James Milton Peters I; brother, James R. Peters; sister, Elizabeth Prince; and son, James Milton Peters III.

He is survived by wife of 68 years, Vernice (Greer) Peters; son, Gerald E. (Deborah) Peters of West Jefferson; daughters, Kathleen (James) Feisley of Brookville and Rebecca (Melvin) Krekel of Galloway; grandsons, Joshua H. (Mindy) Peters, Trevor S. (Laura) Peters and Christopher J. Feisley; great-grandsons, Nathan S. Peters, Mitchell J. Peters, Samuel H. Peters, Adam J. Peters and Benjamin P. Peters; step-grandson, Brian Krekel and family; and nieces and nephews.

Milt graduated from Milford Center High School in 1936 and enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1942. He served in the Navy during World War II in the European Theater on the USS LCI No. 13, LCI Flotilla II (amphibious ship) for over two years. He was discharged Nov. 13, 1945. He was a life member of the former VFW Post No. 1176, London, member of American Legion Post No. 248, Plain City and a member of the UAW.

He was employed by Urbana Die and Tool Co. 1939-41, from 1945-50 a tool and die maker for General Motors in Columbus, 1951-56 he owned and operated the W.S. Moore’s Store in Wapakoneta, 1956-1983 tool and die maker for General Motors Co. in Columbus, Ohio and retired from there Aug. 1, 1983.

A member of the Hilliard United Methodist Church 1956-83, Hillsboro United Methodist Church 1984-95 and the First United Methodist Church of London from 1995-present.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, in the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 N. Main St., London. Pastor Sue McClelland will be officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3-5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, and from 10 a.m. until time of services Wednesday.
