Betsy Jane (Goldsberry) LeBeau, 90, of Mt. Sterling, went home to be with her Lord, peacefully in her home, surrounded by loving family and friends on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, at 12:25 p.m.
Betsy was born July 9, 1922, in Madison County, Ohio, to the late Neil and Alta (Morton) Goldsberry.
She was a 1940 graduate of Mt. Sterling High School.
Betsy married Freddie LeBeau in 1941. They were married 70 years at the time of his death, Feb. 8, 2011.
In addition to her parents and husband, Betsy was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law; an infant son; two infant grandsons; and a dear niece.
Betsy is survived by four children, Rudy (Peggy) LeBeau, Luann (Jeff) Thompson, of Washington Court House, JoLynn (Dale) Mori of Summerville, South Carolina, and Roger (Linda) LeBeau of Bloomingburg; 11 grandchildren, Christy (Blanton) Brown, Tony (Amy) LeBeau, Jimmy (Angie) LeBeau, Ryan (BethAnne) LeBeau, Mary Jane Thompson, Sherry (Jason) Vogt, Melissa (Drew) Knoppe, Roger (Kellie) LeBeau, Amy Jo LeBeau, Leslie (Eddie) Davidson and LeAnn Griffith; 16 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and many dear friends, including her caregivers, Doug Cottrell, Evelyn Taylor and Debbie Trenner.
Betsy was a very devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was very involved in her church and community.
She was a member of the Madison Mills United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Guiding Light Sunday School Class, the former Madison Mills Grange, and Sterling Chapter No. 74 Order of the Eastern Star. Her love and faith will continue to inspire all who knew her.
A Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, at the Madison Mills United Methodist Church. Rev. Bob Scholis and Rev. John Ball will be officiating. Interment will follow in Madison Mills Cemetery. Friends may call at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 331 W. Main St., Mt. Sterling, from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 16.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Madison Mills United Methodist Church, c/o Mrs. LaVonne Melvin, 7035 White Oak Road, Bloomingburg, OH 43106 or Hospice of Fayette County, P.O. Box 849, Washington Court House, OH 43160.
