EBERLY

Salina S. Eberly, 92 years and three months, died Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 13, 2012, at Roanoke Apostolic Home, Roanoke, Illinois.

She was born Aug. 13, 1920, to Simon D. and Esther S. (Swartzendruber) Gnagey of Pigeon, Michigan.

She was married to Albert B. Eberly on May 4, 1946.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mary B. Turner Foreman, and Nannie S. Linder; two brothers, Orie S. and Fred S. Gnagey; and two infant daughters, Evelyn Mae and Aletha Grace Eberly.

Surviving are her husband of 66 years and their five children: Linda (Elroy) Miller, Harrisonburg, Virginia, Nelson (Dorcas Yoder) Eberly, Hartville, Ohio, Thelma (Clayton) Nisly, Cuenca, Ecuador, Arlene (Ron) Kennell, Roanoke, Illinois, and Willard (Rhoda Snavely) Eberly, Manheim, Pennsylvania. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Salina and Albert lived most of their married life in Pigeon, Michigan. Salina was known for her hospitality and eagerness to serve others. Friends always knew Salina would give them a listening ear. They were active members of the Pigeon River Mennonite Church.

When Albert retired from the Pigeon Coop Elevator, they moved to Irwin, Ohio where they volunteered on the maintenance/kitchen staff of Rosedale Bible College, from 1989-2008.

They were members of the United Bethel Mennonite Church of Plain City, Ohio. In 2008 they moved to Roanoke, Illinois to live close to their daughter and her family. They attended the Linn Mennonite Church faithfully.

Calling hours will be held at United Bethel Mennonite Church, 11342 Lafayette-Plain City Road, Plain City, OH 43064 from 5-8 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17. Funeral service will be at the same location at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday afternoon, Nov. 18, 2012, with viewing time at 1:30 p,m. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
