Serious accident on US 62

The Pickaway County Sheriff’s office is on the scene of a serious motor vehicle crash on US Route 62 South of Renick Road in Darby Township.

Several 911 calls were received at 11:02 reporting the three vehicle crash. Initial reports were of two victims trapped and one unconscious.

Mt. Sterling EMS along with Tri County Fire were dispatched and requested mutual aid from Scioto Township EMS and Pleasant Township EMS.

A total of five victims were transported to various Columbus hospitals, including a child taken to Nationwide Children’s.

An earlier report, noting a fatality at the scene, was proven to be incorrect.
