Madison County Democrat — Rev. Solomon, of Hope, Ind., is holding revival meetings at the Antioch Mission, assisted by Rev. Jennie Linn.
— The missionary society of the Baptist Church will be entertained at the home of Miss Ruby (Timmons) Harbage next Friday evening.
— The high school pupils will render a Thanksgiving program at the school hall.
— Rev. Woodward and wife, of Sandusky, were here Saturday and Sunday, the guests of George Silver. He preached at the Baptist Church Sunday morning and evening.
— The ladies of the Domestic Science Club were entertained at the home of Mrs. L. C. Dick, last Thursday afternoon. After the regular program, lunch was served.
— John Kubitschack made a business trip to Columbus Thursday. (John Kubitschack owned and operated the Star Hotel on East Main Street across the alley from what is now Chevron Pool. He and his wife owned it for many years. He was somewhat of a character. He sold cigars in the lobby. When asked the price he would say, “Eight cents a piece, or three for twenty five cents, what do I care for a penny.”

The Madison Press, May 21, 1953 — The Woman’s Society of Christian Service of the Methodist Church installed the following officers: Mrs. J.C. Kile, president; Mrs. Ernest Thomas, vice president; Mrs. Charles O’Hara, secretary; Mrs. Albert Engle, treasurer. The following ladies were elected secretaries of various divisions, Mrs. Harold B. Rader, Mrs. Paul Laferty, Mrs. George Ely, Mrs. Lewis Overturf, Mrs. Velma Lindstrum, Mrs. Dale Porter, Mrs. Frank Peters, Mrs. Carl Delong, Mrs. Marlin Fettrow and Mrs. James Hockenbery.
— Funeral services for Mrs. Clara Harbage Goodson, 89, were held Monday afternoon at her late home on West Main Street. Mrs. Goodson was a daughter of the late Owen and Minerva Arnett Harbage pioneer and lifetime residents of Jefferson Township and was the last survivor of their family of seven children. She was a member of the old Foster Chapel and later the Methodist Church.
— Mrs. James Jobe last Thursday entertained the Missionary Society of the Baptist Church. Mrs. M. V. Harrison gave a report of an all-day meeting of the Columbus Association of the Baptist Church at First Baptist Church at Granville, Ohio.
— Mrs. Wayne Daniels welcomed members of the Gradale Sorority to her home last Thursday evening for the final business meeting of the group’s calendar year. An election of officers for the following year was held with the following results. Primus, Mrs. Dale Porter; Pro-Primus, Mrs. Robert Klise; Tribune, Mrs. Elton Ballard; Correspondent Tribune, Mrs. Jack Snyder; Quaestor, Mrs. Malvern Reuter; Reporter, Mrs. Francis Baker. Also Mrs. Marie Baber was again chosen as Mentor for the Society.
